About

Rachel Khoo is a food writer and presenter with her own BBC and Food Network cooking series.

After quitting her job in public relations, Rachel undertook a three-month patisserie course at Le Cordon Bleu in 2006.

Food Writer

In 2010 Khoo received her first publishing deal for two French-language cookery books: Barres à céreales, muesli et granola maison and Pâtes à tartiner. During this time, she also worked briefly in Germany as a freelancer for Volkswagen, where she ran food-related events.

Then, Rachel opened a small restaurant to test recipes for her first English-language cookbook, The Little Paris Kitchen. Using social media to advertise the restaurant, she quickly attracted a large and loyal fan base.

TV Chef

Later, the BBC commissioned The Little Paris Kitchen: Cooking with Rachel Khoo. It was to be Rachel’s first foray into TV and the six-episode series was filmed mostly in Khoo’s Paris kitchen. It began airing on British TV in 2012, and then aired in international markets.

Both book and television series received critical and commercial acclaim. The book sold more than 120,000 copies and the television series was watched by over 1.5 million viewers.

In February 2016, Rachel became a new judge on the Australian TV show My Kitchen Rules. She filmed the program while travelling throughout Australia. Then, in 2021, the Great British Menu announced Rachel Khoo as a new judge.
