About

Mike Robinson is a celebrity chef with a talent for cooking game dishes. He was co-presenter of series Countrywise and Countrywise Kitchen.

Mike’s passion for game cooking is reflected in his country pub, The Pot Kiln in Frilsham. Mike is also co-owner of the Michelin-starred London pub The Harwood Arms.

TV Presenter

He has always been an outdoors man, and it was during a stint as a dishwasher in Chamonix that he presented a programme called Chalet Slaves. This led to more presenting work, all filmed at his pub-restaurant, The Pot Kiln.

For one show, Mike investigated the damage signal crayfish cause to the river environment. Then in 2004 he set up Mike Robinson Wild Foods, supplying crayfish to many of London’s restaurants and hotels. This company is a real family affair, run by Mike, his wife, his cousin and his parents.

Since then, Mike has become a familiar face on TV, appearing on Great Food Live, Saturday Kitchen, Tales From the Country and the ever-popular Countrywise.

Mike published his first book, Wild Flavours, in 2005. He also runs cookery demonstrations and makes regular appearances on Saturday Kitchen. Mike remains an active restaurateur and, as befits a lover of the outdoors, he shoots all of the venison served at The Harwood Arms.

His series Heaven’s Kitchen at Large, follows Mike and his wife Katie as they continue to strive for success. Certainly popular with the locals, the pub needs to start making better returns to compete in the cut-throat restaurant industry.

Mike is a versatile presenter and chef, as such he is in demand at a number of different functions and events.
