Lorraine Pascale is a TV chef, former model, and pâtissière. She has authored best selling cookery books, presented two TV series and opened her own retail outlet in London.
Based in New York, Lorraine was the first black British model to appear on the cover of American Elle. She also appeared in the 1998 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Then, after several years in the modelling business, she enrolled to study for the Leith’s Diploma in Food and Wine.
On completing the Diploma, Lorraine Pascale did a two year degree in International Culinary Arts in Pastry and then worked in some of the most famous kitchens of the world. These included Petrus, The Mandarin Oriental, Gilgamesh and The Wolseley. But she soon started her own business creating celebration cakes, establishing herself as a specialist cakemaker, with an exclusive contract with Selfridges.
It was celebrity chef Marco Pierre White that introduced her to Selfridges. In 2008 and 2010 she supplied the London store with over 1000 Christmas cakes, and later opened her own shop, Ella’s Bakehouse, in Covent Garden.
In January 2011 Pascale presented her own bakery programme, Baking Made Easy, and published a bakery book based upon the series. A general cookery programme followed, Home Cooking Made Easy, with a second book based on the series.
Lorraine’s incredible career has taken her from the catwalk to some of the most renowned kitchens in the world.
