Aldo Zilli is an Italian-born celebrity chef. He owns various restaurants around London, all with Zilli in their title. In 1996 he won Best Italian Restaurant Award in The London Restaurant Awards, and in 1998 he collected the award for Best Media Restaurant for Zilli Fish.

One of nine children, Aldo was born in Abruzzo. After catering college in Italy, he travelled for the winter season to hotels all over Europe. He finally came to England at the age of 19 and decided to concentrate on his passion for Italian food. Aldo introduced new cooking methods and menus. He transformed restaurants from little-known venues to celebrity haunts.


Aldo has made a number of memorable TV appearances. His warm personality comes across effortlessly in his many radio and television appearances, on ITV, BBC, the UK Food Channel and Five. He has appeared in One Man and His Hob, Good Food Live as well as in the third series of Celebrity Fit Club. He also appeared on CBBC’s Best of Friends in which he helped two girls make their own spaghetti.

Aldo appeared on The X Factor: Battle Of The Stars along with Jean-Christophe Novelli, Paul Rankin and Ross Burden.

In summer 2010, Zilli appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s Big Fat Challenge. He helped the chubby Chawner family to lose weight through healthy eating.


Aldo Zilli has worked with with various companies and brands. He first worked with Thomson Airways by inspiring some creative ideas for airline meals, then with Kraft Foods by preparing recipes with Philadelphia cheese for the Heavenly Inspiration Website and You Magazine. He has also worked as a chef consultant for the former Safeway supermarket chain, and has designed a Zilli dinner service for Poole Pottery.
