Massachusetts based haircare brand Living Proof has announced Jennifer Aniston as its new spokesperson and product creator.
The Massachusetts-based company CEO said that she was impressed by the ‘Friends’ star’s business acumen — and glorious locks:
“Jennifer embodies everything we stand for – a unique combination of beauty and brains,” Jill Beraud, said in a company statement. “She not only has the most fabulous hair but is an amazing creative talent, and has shown she is a savvy businesswoman with a serious interest in developing small, innovative companies.”
When it comes to famous hair, Jennifer Aniston ranks pretty darn high. So the actress is spinning those famous blonde locks into gold with a new deal with Living Proof, a high-end haircare company.
Living Proof is a science-minded company founded by medical and biotech scientists that aims to “invent and patent new molecules that completely change how hair and skin behave.”
Aniston commented on the collaboration, saying ‘You want to be part of something that’s exciting and authentic. You can’t get more interesting than these scientists’.
The former “Friends” star shilled for L’Oréal shampoo and hairspray in the ’90s, right on the heels of her famous “Rachel” haircut (you know, the one she described to Allure as “that damn Rachel, which was not my best look. How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen…”).
More recently Jen had her hair mussed Ellen DeGeneres in a promo spot for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”… and has spent many an interview touching, patting and playing with her now long, straight tresses.
Noel Federizo Jennifer Aniston and her stylist Chris McMillan demonstrate Living Proof products.
“Over the years, my hair has been subjected to everything…blow dryers, flatirons, curling irons, color, extensions, you name it,” Aniston said on the company’s website. “After using these products, I felt like I finally discovered a solution that works every day.”
Her stylist Chris McMillan said he washed her hair using the No Frizz Shampoo and Full Conditioner and then used the Full Root Lifting Spray before blow drying.
“There’s no need to use a brush – the shampoo eliminates all the frizz,” he said.
Jennifer also said: “Over the years, my hair has been subjected to everything … blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, color, extensions, you name it. My hair has taken a serious beating… After using these products, I felt like I finally discovered a solution that works every day. I could not be more excited to share Living Proof with the world.”
started back in 2004 when Dr. Bob Langer, MIT Institute Professor and world-renowned biotech inventor, teamed up with Jon Flint and Dr. Amir Nashat, partners in the international venture capital firm Polaris Venture Partners. They took a look at the beauty industry and what was actually in beauty products. They discovered that, for both hair and skin products, the beauty industry has relied on the same off the shelf ingredients, most of them far too ineffective to make any real, long lasting impact. This inspired our founders to create new technologies that would offer women “proof in a bottle,” rather than “hope in a bottle.” So, they assembled a team of scientists from outside the beauty category-scientists from pharma, biotech and medicine – who didn’t have any preconceived notions of what could or couldn’t be possible in beauty. But the beautiful chemistry didn’t end there. An ingenious collaboration was born when the scientists teamed up with beauty experts like celebrity hair stylist Ward Stegerhoek and entrepreneurial stylist Mitch Derosa, iconic industry veterans who knew women’s struggles with traditional beauty products. Beauty met brilliant science, and Living Proof was born.
