Musicians JAY-Z and Rihanna have partnered with Budweiser to support the alcohol brand’s Made for Music campaign, drawing on its support of great music around the world.
The two singers feature in a global campaign celebrating the artists, makers and creators that have made their mark on pop culture and the unique power and influence music has in uniting people.
Made for Music, the brand’s first push using music as a platform, features the superstars as dual celebrity centerpieces. The two 30-second spots are set to Hova’s “PSA” and Rihanna’s latest single “Right Now”; both were shot by director Mark Romanek.
Global Advertising Director for Budweiser, Ricardo Marques comments, ‘Budweiser Made for Music is a tribute to those who continue to put their energy and passion everyday in the pursuit of their dreams. JAY Z and Rihanna represent these values and are therefore an incredible source of inspiration to us all.’
In their respective spots, Jay-Z, Rihanna and others showcase creativity; both ads are punctuated by the statement, “It begins and ends with what you make.” Jay-Z’s involvement comes on the heels of Magna Carta Holy Grail’s release, and Rihanna is busy on the road with her Diamonds World Tour.
The campaign also includes limited-edition packaging, out-of-home advertising, digital extensions and sponsorships of the two aforementioned artists worldwide. It was inspired by last summer’s Budweiser Made in America festival, which Jay-Z curated and headlined in Philadelphia.
Budweiser promises to bring live music to fans around the world with more than 160 events in 25 countries, including the Diamonds World Tour, Jay-Z concerts and the Budweiser Made in America festival, on place Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 (2013) in Philadelphia.
