About

French actor Guillaume Canet has partnered with Italian fashion house Gucci as its first male sponsorship partner, wearing an exclusive equestrian line designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini.

Guillaume’s first outing in Gucci colours is at the Global Championship Tour in Monaco.

Guillaume comments, ‘I am very pleased to join the Gucci team and am proud to resume competing in their colours, especially since the House is very much involved in the sport. To rediscover myself as a rider has given me great joy and I would like to thank Frida Giannini and her team for their support.’

Previously, Camet was a member of France’s national equestrian team. The clothes he now dons for competition were designed by Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, and prominently feature the label’s crest logo.

Camet starred in the film Jappeloup, based on the true story of a Frenchman who abandoned his legal career for horse riding and eventually won an Olympic medal.

In a press release from Fibre 2 Fashion, Giannini stated: “The Gucci men’s world is an essential part of the house and thus, it was a natural evolution to extend the equestrian wardrobe to this category. I am delighted to be providing Guillaume with this gear as he returns to the passion of riding that is so close to me as well.”

In 2013, Camet won the Prix Licarzo at the Cannes Jumping International.
