Geri Halliwell is a singer-songwriter, author and actress. She launched her solo career in 1998.

Geri Halliwell is a British pop singer-songwriter, author and actress. After coming to international prominence in the late 1990s as Ginger Spice, a member of the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell then launched her solo career in 1998 and released her album Schizophonic. Since then, she has released two more studio albums – Scream If You Wanna Go Faster and Passion – and four number one singles at the UK Singles Chart. In 2008, Geri published a book series named Ugenia Lavender.

As a solo artist, she has sold 12 million records worldwide. She has also been nominated for two Brit Awards in 2000 and 2002. In 1999, she wrote an autobiography, If Only, in which she described her life as a Spice Girl.

On 12 April 2007, Geri signed a six-book deal with Macmillan Children’s Books. The books follow the adventures of nine-year-old Ugenia, a character based on Geri.

Return to the Limelight

In March 2010, it was announced that Geri would be making a return to music. The following month, she announced that she was back in the studio and recording. In 2010, Geri stood in as a guest judge on The X Factor for Dannii Minogue. On Christmas Day 2010 she played a cameo in the mockumentary Come Fly with Me.

Geri released her own range of clothing through retailer Next in January 2011.

In July 2011 Geri confirmed the album was ready and is called Putting On The Bling.

2012 turned out to be a very successful year for Geri. In June she reunited with the Spice Girls to promote the new musical Viva Forever, based on their songs and career, and in Agust she performed with the group in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in London. She also appeared at the The X Factor auditions in Liverpool as a guest judge.

In October 2012, she performed her new song “Phenomenal Woman” at Breast Cancer Care Show, as well as, performing in the Children in Need musical Singin’ in the Rain on 25 October 2012.
