Accessories brand Radley has announced British model Erin O’Connor as the face of its new autumn/winter 2013 campaign.
As one of the UK’s most loved and distinctive models, Erin’s striking beauty and graceful poise are instantly captivating. This, along with her refusal to conform to predetermined ideas of perfection in the fashion world and her drive to challenge such perceptions (through her All Walks Beyond The Catwalk initiative), all combine to embody and amplify Radley’s intrinsic fashion and lifestyle values.
O’Connor commented ‘I’ve watched Radley with interest over the last few seasons and so was genuinely excited when they asked me to be the face of their AW13 campaign. I love the integrity and strong British heritage of the brand combined with a passion to be truly original and innovative. The bags are beautifully made and almost works of art in themselves, something precious you really want to own, which made working on the new campaign a real opportunity for me to capture this expressively. It was a great experience working in creative collaboration with Radley, and I am thrilled with the results we have achieved – I can’t wait for the campaign to launch in September!’
The striking new campaign, shot by sought-after fashion photographer Emma Summerton and with styling direction by Caroline Newell, unveils Erin emulating the strong directional silhouettes of key styles from the AW13 collection – bringing the collection to life in a way never seen before in the brand’s advertising history.
Founder of Radley, Lowell Harder, comments,“We are thrilled to announce Erin O’Connor as the face of our AW13 collection and campaign. Erin seemed such a natural choice for Radley – I especially love her inherent wit and charm and the way this comes through in her modelling and editorial photography. She’s also incredibly beautiful, with such a strong unique look, which we felt was a great fit with the Radley brand and the style-led direction the collections are taking now.”
Erin O’Connor’s first published pictures were by Juergen Teller for issue 159. The Undressed Issue issue of i-D in December 1996.
She has modelled on the catwalk for John Galliano, Christian Dior, Donna Karan, Prada, Versace, Miu Miu, Jasper Conran, Giorgio Armani, Julien Macdonald, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Chado Ralph Rucci, Badgley Mischka, and Dolce & Gabbana.
