British model Cara Delevingne has been revealed as the face of the spring 2013 DKNY ad campaign. Shot by Patrick Demarchelier on the cosmopolitan streets of Manhattan, Delevingne imparts a modern day girl-on-the-go vibe – complete with her mobile phone.

Delevingne, recently voted Model Of The Year at The British Fashion Awards, has previously worked with Burberry, CHANEL, Zara and H&M.

In a series of colourful campaign shots the 20-year-old is seen walking the streets of New York wearing sporty looks from the label’s spring / summer collection.

One frame shows her with headphones on as a gust of wind catches the hem of her netted skirt, while another shows her garbed in a thigh-skimming camouflage print dress as she takes a phone call.

It isn’t the first time Miss Delevingne has worked with DKNY and this September she took to the catwalk on behalf of the hip clothing brand at New York Fashion Week.

DKNY announced its latest recruit via Twitter, tweeting: ‘Our seriously cool new DKNY campaign starring @caradelevigne!’

This year has been non-stop for the London-born model. After making her debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in November, she claimed the title of Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.

The BFA said that she had picked up the award in recognition of her contribution to the international fashion scene over the past year.

‘Cara’s unique sense of style and flair in front of the camera has made her one of the most prominent names in fashion, walking in an impressive 31 shows in September’ they said.

She was also described as the star face of autumn/winter 2013 by British Vogue.

And now it appears she is finally ready for a rest. She tweeted today: ‘I feel like my body is shutting down, just in time for Christmas.’
