Actress Melissa George has teamed up with lingerie brand Agent Provocateur to star in the new campaign film for autumn/winter 2013.
The actress stars alongside models Elettra Wiedemann and Chloe Hayward in the film that was directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker John Cameron Mitchell.
The stars of the film have been described by the brand as ‘iconic Agent Provocateur: each one a strong character, each a different body shape and each one with a sense of humour that is essential to the brand’s DNA.’
The scene for the multi-national trio is the chaotic backstage area of a fashion show. Trussed up to within an inch of their patience, Hayward’s iced bun is snatched away, Wiedemann’s chest is strapped down by vicious Ugly Betty fashion stereotypes and George is denied a kiss with Wiedemann after apparently falling for her.
Sounds surreal? Wait until the final scene when the ladies rip of their catwalk looks in defiance and frolic on the runway in just their lingerie. As George explains: “I discovered things about myself I never knew existed!”
The underwear itself was inspired by “the powerful femininity in George Michael’s Too Funky video,” according to Agent Provocateur creative director Sarah Shotton. Each new campaign model was cherry picked for her different body shape and sense of humour; something Shatton reports is “essential to the brand’s DNA”.
