Australian actor Simon Baker has been announced as the face of Givenchy men’s fragrance for spring 2013, set to feature in advertising across print and TV.

The world-famous Australian actor plays the lead in the internationally successful television series The Mentalist, a role that has earned him multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.

In the world of cinema, he has also appeared in a string of outstanding films, including the recent hits The Devil Wears Prada, The Killer Inside Me and Margin Call.

The Mentalist actor will appear in the new advertising campaign for the scent which is expected to launch globally in spring 2013.

The Australian actor, who is best known for his role on the CBS drama series, will be seen in both the print and TV adverts for the top secret men’s fragrance.

A man of style and wit, as well as an accomplished sportsman, Baker emanates a disarming charm, elegantly embodying the contemporary masculine ideal.

Global president of Givenchy Thierry Maman noted that Simon embodies the fashion house’s founding principles.

“Simon was a natural choice for us – he has aristocratic elegance and charisma. These are all values which have been linked with the brand since Hubert de Givenchy,” Thierry announced in an official statement.

Earlier this year, Simon also was appointed the face of Longines, a luxury watch manufacturer. As the Ambassador of Elegance, Simon Baker has succeeded in personifying the very values of the Swiss watchmaker.
