About

Lleyton is a national hero in Australia and an international sporting icon. Revered by tennis fans for his gutsy and determined performances, he is also the youngest male ever to be ranked world number 1 at the age of 20.

Lleyton Hewitt played Australian Rules Football as a young boy until the age of 13, before deciding to pursue a career in tennis.

He soon became known on the professional circuit for having one of the best overhead smashes in the game. His signature shot, however, is the offensive topspin lob, a shot that he executes efficiently off both wings when his opponent approaches the net.

Hewitt’s career achievements are astonishing. He won the 2000 US Open men’s doubles, the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon men’s singles, and back-to-back Tennis Masters Cup titles (2001 and 2002). In 2005, TENNIS Magazine put Hewitt in 34th place on its list of the 40 greatest tennis players since 1965.

In 2002, Hewitt was named Australia’s male athlete of the year in 2002 at the Australian Sports Awards. He was also named Sportsman of the Year a year later.

The Australia Post launched a commemorative Lleyton Hewitt stamp in January 2002 prior to the Australian Open and in 2004 featured a Lleyton Hewitt Limited Edition post card during the Australian Open
Lleyton was also Voted Most Popular South Australian athlete by the public for three consecutive years (2001-03).

Lleyton’s considerable sporting experience, combined with his pleasing manner, informed approach and articulate delivery, make him a natural choice for personal appearances, motivational and after dinner speaking, as well as corporate days and promotions.
