Rachel is a glamorous English born chef, writer and broadcaster, with her own BBC series to her name. Determined to understand and master French cooking, Rachel threw herself heads first into learning by moving to Paris and enrolling at the world-famous cookery school Le Cordon Bleu.

Rachel undertook a three-month patisserie course where she gained a pastry degree while she was working part time as an au pair, then worked in cookbook store La Cocotte and ran baking workshops.

She was born in Croydon, South London, although her father is Chinese/Malaysian and her mother is Austrian. She studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and then worked in public relations on the fashion industry.

Despite initially not speaking a word of French, Rachel has now lived in Paris for more than five years and has not only fully conquered the French language but has mastered classical French cuisine enough to adapt it with a modern twist.

Rachel runs her restaurant, La petite cuisine à Paris, out of her quaint French flat; and her modern French cuisine has been extraordinarily received by renown chefs, critics, and members of the public (including The New York Times). Her unique take on French cooking – influenced by her Malay-Chinese-Austrian heritage – made her the perfect host to explore the city’s finest food in her first cookery show, The Little Paris Kitchen, where she demystifies French food from her tiny Parisian studio apartment.

Rachel has often expressed her fascination with Brittany’s food culture and the depth and richness of the region’s food.

Rachel Khoo has written two cookery books published in French: Barres à céreales, muesli et granola maison (Homemade muesli bars, muesli and granola) and Pâtes à tartiner (Homemade spreads), published by Marabout. Her third book, written in English, The Little Paris Kitchen is also the name of her first TV series, which began airing on British TV in 2012.

With her combination of beauty and talent, Rachel Khoo is in much demand for her personal appearances, presentations, and as a brand ambassador or for cooking-related product launches.
