Alexa Chung teams up with Eyeko

British presenter and model Alexa Chung has joined forces with Eyeko in a partnership which sees her working closely with the cosmetics brand on new products and designing her own capsule collection.

The 29-year-old Brit’s current projects include a just-signed deal with indie cosmetics brand Eyeko; an upcoming book, “It,” and a contributing editorship at British Vogue. That’s in addition to her DJing, modeling and presenting daily on a music TV show, “Fuse News.”

Speaking on collaborating with beauty veterans Max and Nina Leykind, Chung commented ‘It is probably no secret I’m a big fan of the cat-eye eyeliner flick and after trying many different brands Eyeko definitely is the best in creating my favourite 60s look. I love that I won’t be just a face of the brand, but that I’ll also get to work with Max and Nina on the whole creative process’.

Multitasking comes naturally to Chung, who as a devotee of fashion has interviewed such designers as Karl Lagerfeld and Christopher Kane in her own journalistic pursuits. She’s been a columnist for British women’s magazine Company and wrote a weekly newspaper column for England’s The Independent. “Whenever I speak to my mum, I always tell her what I’m up to, and she says, ‘What else?’ It makes me think I should do more,” she cracked. “But I don’t have a finger to spare for another pie at this moment. Although I’ve quite an overactive brain. I’m drawing and writing all the time.”

Not to mention tweeting — Chung has more than 1,156,000 followers. A recent tweet: “Thinking a paper bag would be a sufficient laptop case is hopefully the last bad decision I make today.”

In April 2006, then-model Chung was offered the job of co-host on Popworld on Channel 4, a music show known for its irreverent and awkward style of interviews. Chung and co-host Alex Zane also presented a weekly radio show called Popworld Radio.

Chung left Channel 4, and the United Kingdom, in April 2009 in order to pursue a stateside career. She presented It’s On with Alexa Chung for MTV. The live, daily show—billed as TRL’s replacement—featured celebrity talk, live music and online interaction with viewers.

In October 2010, she began hosting Gonzo With Alexa Chung, an informal UK chat show previously hosted by Zane Lowe, for MTV Rocks. In January 2011, she co-hosted NBC’s “2011 Golden Globe Arrivals Special” with Carson Daly and Natalie Morales. The live show featured interviews with television and movie stars as well as segments devoted to fashion on the red carpet. Chung presented the iTunes Festival in July 2011. Chung has since worked on 24 Hour Catwalk, acting as the host and a judge.
