Tim Foster gained widespread acclaim as a British Olympic rower, renowned for his crucial role in the coxless four’s gold medal win at the 2000 Sydney Games. Following his retirement from international rowing, Tim transitioned into a successful elite coach, inspiring and empowering a new generation of athletes with his dedication and expertise.
During his illustrious rowing career with the GB team, Tim Foster earned a total of 9 World Championship medals and 2 Olympic medals, achieving a podium finish in all but two of his 14 years of competition. In 2004, he joined the UK Sport-sponsored Elite Coach Programme. By 2007, Tim became the Head Coach of the Swiss National Rowing Team, leading them to significant successes at the World and European Championships and their most successful results in 16 years at the London 2012 Olympics. He has since coached World and Olympic Champions.
