Michelle Keegan is an accomplished English actress best known for her role as Tina McIntyre in the iconic soap opera Coronation Street. She has also made significant strides in other TV dramas and modelling.


Early Life

Michelle Keegan was born in Stockport, England, and grew up in a multicultural household with an English father and a maternal grandmother from Gibraltar. She attended St Patrick’s RC High School in Eccles and later trained at the Manchester School of Acting. Before pursuing acting, Michelle worked at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre and as a check-in agent at Manchester Airport.


Coronation Street

In 2007, Michelle landed her breakout role as Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street during just her second audition. Beating nearly 900 other candidates, she began her six-year run on the show, becoming one of its most beloved characters. She left the series in 2013, with her final episode airing on 2 June 2014.

Michelle has been a regular feature in FHM magazine’s 100 Sexiest Women poll:

  • 2016-2017: Starred in Our Girl as Georgie Lane, a lead role in the popular BBC One military drama. She returned for subsequent seasons due to the show’s success.
  • 2016: Guest-starred in ITV2’s comedy series Plebs.
  • 2017: Portrayed Tina Dean in Tina and Bobby, an ITV drama exploring the relationship between Tina Dean and football legend Bobby Moore.
