Kirsty Gallacher is a prominent sports TV presenter, known for her work across various sports shows and entertainment programs.


Early Life
Kirsty Gallacher was born in Edinburgh and developed an early interest in journalism. Initially aspiring to be a fashion journalist, she pursued her studies at the London College of Fashion.


Sky Sports
Kirsty’s career began in 1996 when she joined Sky as a production assistant. She quickly moved up to the role of editorial assistant at Sky Sports. Her big break came in 1998 when she began presenting on Sky Sports News, a role that launched her career as a sports TV personality. Over the years, Kirsty has hosted various other shows, including 90 Minutes, Soccer Extra, Kirsty and Phil, and Soccer AM.


Kirsty’s Home Videos
From 2000 to 2004, Kirsty hosted Kirsty’s Home Videos on Sky1, a show that was the satellite counterpart of ITV’s You’ve Been Framed!. This fun-filled program showcased hilarious and entertaining home video clips sent in by the public.


Other Presenting Roles
In 2002, Kirsty presented the morning show RI:SE. In 2004, she became the host of the game show Simply the Best, alongside Phil Tufnell.

Kirsty’s diverse skill set also led her to The Games, where she won the third series in 2005 and went on to present the show in subsequent years with Jamie Theakston.

In 2008, Kirsty presented the revamped version of Gladiators on Sky1, partnering with Ian Wright.


Television Appearances
Throughout her career, Kirsty made several guest appearances on popular shows, including They Think It’s All Over, A Question of Sport, and a memorable appearance with Duncan Bannatyne on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.

In 2015, Kirsty took part in the Strictly Come Dancing competition, where she was paired with professional dancer Brendan Cole.


Awards
Kirsty Gallacher has received recognition for her contributions to television. She won the Satellite/Digital TV Personality award at the 2002 Television and Radio Industries Club Awards. The following year, Kirsty’s Home Videos won the Satellite/Digital Programme award in 2003. She also received a Platinum Award for Best Entertainment Programme at the 2002 Houston International Film Festival.


Kirsty Gallacher remains a well-respected figure in the world of sports television and continues to influence the entertainment industry with her talent and versatility.
