In Detail

Jonnie’s journey to success is nothing short of extraordinary. At just five years old, he contracted Meningitis, which led to an amputation just below the knee. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, Jonnie made a full recovery and embraced a fighting spirit that would eventually propel him to become a world-class sprinter. Despite his disability, he competed against able-bodied children in school races, determined to prove that his condition would not hinder his ambitions.

His breakthrough came in 2012, when he competed in his first international race at the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester, where he broke the World Record and won Gold, marking an unforgettable year in his athletic career. In 2017, Jonnie continued his winning streak by claiming GOLD at the World Para Athletics Championships.
