Joel Dommett is a versatile English comedian, actor, and television personality, known for his engaging humor and wide-ranging career in entertainment.
Early Life and Career
Born in Rockhampton, Joel attended The Castle School in Thornbury before moving to London at the age of 19 to pursue his career. His first stand-up performance took place at a bar in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of his comedy journey. Over time, Joel performed across the globe, including in places like Reykjavik and The Netherlands.
In 2008, Joel’s talent was recognised when he won the Best Newcomer award and became a finalist in the Stand Up Comedian of the Year category. That same year, he starred in the feature film The Edge of Love, a drama set during the Second World War.
Television and Acting
Joel’s TV career began to gain traction in 2010 with a recurring role as D.C. Sweeney in E4’s Skins. He also appeared in all six episodes of the BBC Two sitcom Popatron, which was produced by Charlie Brooker’s Zeppotron. Additionally, Joel hosted Live in Chelsea, a live discussion show about the popular reality series Made in Chelsea.
Joel’s comedic presence expanded when he joined the UK version of Impractical Jokers between 2012 and 2014. In 2015, he became a team captain on ITV2’s Reality Bites and was a regular panellist on Sky 1’s Bring the Noise, led by Nicole Scherzinger. Later that year, he appeared on a celebrity edition of The Chase.

In 2016, Joel competed in the sixteenth series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where he captivated viewers with his humor and resilience, ultimately finishing as the runner-up to Scarlett Moffatt.
Presenting Roles
Since November 2017, Joel has co-presented I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp on ITV2, alongside Joe Swash and Scarlett Moffatt. His charismatic and humorous approach has made him a popular figure on television.
