Jean-Claude Van Damme is a renowned Belgian actor, martial artist, filmmaker, and fight choreographer, best known for his dynamic performances in action films. He is particularly famous for his signature move of doing the splits, which has become a hallmark of his martial arts style.

Van Damme gained international fame with classic films such as Bloodsport (1988) and Kickboxer (1989), both of which showcased his exceptional martial arts skills and charismatic screen presence. His filmography includes a number of successful titles, including Universal Soldier (1992), Hard Target (1993), Sudden Death (1995), and JCVD (2008). He has continued to star in action films throughout his career, making notable appearances in The Expendables 2 (2012), the Kung Fu Panda franchise (2011–2016), and the Kickboxer reboot (2016–2018).

Before making a name for himself in Hollywood, Van Damme achieved national recognition in Belgium as a martial artist and bodybuilder, earning the title of “Mr. Belgium.” He emigrated to the United States in 1982 to pursue a film career, and his breakout role in Bloodsport laid the groundwork for his future success. His most commercially successful film, Timecop (1994), grossed over $100 million worldwide, solidifying his status as a leading action star.

In addition to his film work, Jean-Claude voiced the character “Master Croc” in Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), which became one of his most successful projects, grossing over $600 million globally.

Van Damme has also engaged in advertising and endorsements, appearing in various commercials for brands such as Coors Light beer and Dash laundry detergent in 2011. His blend of martial arts prowess and charisma continues to captivate audiences around the world.
