About

Geri Halliwell, also known as Ginger Spice from the Spice Girls, is a British pop singer-songwriter, author, and actress. She rose to fame in the late 1990s with the Spice Girls, a global pop phenomenon, and launched her solo career in 1998 with her debut album Schizophonic. Her solo work has since included two more albums, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster and Passion, along with four UK number-one singles. In addition to music, Geri is a published author, releasing an autobiography, If Only, in 1999, and a popular children’s book series, Ugenia Lavender, in 2008.

As a solo artist, Geri has sold over 12 million records worldwide and received two Brit Award nominations. Her children’s books, based on a character inspired by her own experiences, were released in a six-book deal with Macmillan Children’s Books, following nine-year-old Ugenia on her adventures.

Geri returned to the music scene in 2010, announcing new recordings and guest-judging on The X Factor. Her cameo in the comedy Come Fly with Me and her clothing line with Next in 2011 further highlighted her versatility. In 2012, she reunited with the Spice Girls to promote Viva Forever, a musical inspired by their songs, and performed with the group at the London Olympics closing ceremony. That October, Geri premiered her song “Phenomenal Woman” at a Breast Cancer Care event and took the stage for Children in Need’s Singin’ in the Rain.

With a diverse career spanning music, writing, fashion, and TV, Geri remains a beloved figure in British pop culture.
