Denise Richards is a versatile American actress, former fashion model, and television personality, best known for her roles in Starship Troopers (1997), Wild Things (1998), and The World Is Not Enough (1999).


Early Career and Rise to Fame

Richards first gained widespread recognition in the 1990s, appearing in a variety of films and television shows. She made her film debut in Loaded Weapon 1 (1993), followed by roles in Tammy and the T-Rex (1994) and Lookin’ Italian (1994). She also guest-starred in popular TV shows such as Saved by the Bell, Married… with Children, and Doogie Howser, M.D., showcasing her rising star power.

Her breakout role came in Starship Troopers (1997), where she played Carmen Ibanez, the courageous pilot in the sci-fi action film. The movie was a commercial success, grossing $121.2 million worldwide, and Richards was nominated for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Female Newcomer.

Richards also made a significant impact in Wild Things (1998), playing Kelly Van Ryan, a role that solidified her place in Hollywood. A year later, she took on the iconic role of Christmas Jones, a nuclear physicist and Bond girl, in The World Is Not Enough (1999).


Television Roles

In addition to her film career, Richards found success on the small screen. She starred in the Paramount Network sitcom Blue Mountain State (2010–2011), and played a central role in the ABC Family mystery-thriller series Twisted (2013–2014). Richards currently stars in CBS’ soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful (2019–present), further showcasing her acting range.

She also found success in reality television, starring in the E! reality series Denise Richards: It’s Complicated (2008–2009), which offered a glimpse into her personal life. She later joined Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (2019–2020), where her candidness and involvement in the high-society drama made her a fan favorite.


Personal Life and Other Ventures

In 2011, Richards authored a memoir, The Real Girl Next Door, which became a New York Times Best Seller.

As a philanthropist, she has actively supported various charitable causes, notably walking the runway for charity fashion shows like Susan G. Komen’s Fashion For The Cure and Clothes Off Your Back Benefit. She has also collaborated with ShoeDazzle to design the “Eloise” heel in 2012, raising over $15,000 for the Kidney Cancer Association.
