Olympic Fencing Champion
Britta Heidemann is renowned as the first epee fencer to achieve the “golden triple” — being crowned Olympic, World, and European Champion simultaneously. With three Olympic medals from three different Games and numerous other international accolades, she stands among the most accomplished fencers in history.
Britta remains actively engaged in sports and global affairs as an IOC member, a board member of the German National Olympic Committee (NOC), and a member of the DFL-Stiftung. She also serves as an ambassador for “Sports for Development” with the Federal Ministry for Cooperation and Development. Fluent in Chinese, Britta’s connection to China dates back to when she lived with a Chinese family in Beijing at the age of 15. Winning gold at the 2008 Beijing Games was a dream realized, and she continues to support various delegations and teams visiting China, including the German national football team.
