Amanda Lamb is a well-known TV presenter, property expert, and former advertising model, celebrated for her role as the iconic “Scottish Widow” and her long-standing career in television.


Early Career and Modelling

Before rising to fame, Amanda worked as an estate agent in Havant while supplementing her income as a barmaid. Her career shifted when she ventured into modelling, eventually landing high-profile campaigns.

  • Scottish Widows: In 1994, Amanda became the face of Scottish Widows, embodying the iconic role for 10 years. One of her favourite campaigns, The Lighthouse, marked the culmination of her contract.
  • She also appeared in advertisements for Reveal Magazine and the XBox 360 game Tomb Raider Underworld.
  • Amanda graced FHM magazine in a silver bikini in 2007 and partnered with Ortak in 2008 to model their jewellery collection.

Television Career

A Place in the Sun

Amanda became a household name in 2001 as the main presenter of Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun, helping viewers find dream homes abroad. The show initially focused on southern Europe but later expanded to destinations worldwide.
