Singer/songwriter Jessie J has announced she’s become ambassador for The Prince’s Trust.

The Price Tag hitmaker told fans at Birmingham’s Fusion Festival – which took part in support of the charity – ‘The Prince’s Trust is an incredible charity with a cause that is very close to my heart’.

20 of the biggest pop acts in the world joined forces for the first ever Fusion Festival, in support of The Prince’s Trust and in association with Capital FM.

Up to 40,000 music fans headed to Birmingham’s Cofton park for a huge weekend of pop at its very best. The weekend featured spectacular live performances, massive chart smash hits plus all the fun of the festival fair with a full fairground and many other interactive events.

£5 from each ticket sale was donated to The Prince’s Trust to help disadvantaged young people into work and training.

Jessie said, “More than a million young people here in the UK are not in work, education or training – that’s a very big crowd that deserves our support. I’m so proud to be a part of that here today.”

After signing with Universal, Jessie J came to prominence following the release of her debut single, “Do It Like a Dude”, which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Charts. After topping the charts in nineteen countries including the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, and New Zealand with the song “Price Tag”, she released her debut album, Who You Are (2011) which charted at number two in the UK.

Other releases from the album included “Nobody’s Perfect”, “Who’s Laughing Now”, and “Who You Are” which all charted within the top 20 in the UK, but the release of fifth single “Domino” spawned more international chart success, peaking at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, and becoming her second UK number one.

The seventh single to be released from Who You Are, “LaserLight”, became her sixth top ten single from the album, making her the first British female artist to have six top ten singles on one album.

Aside from her musical career, Jessie J served as coach and mentor on television show, The Voice UK.
