American actress Eva Mendes has been announced as the new face of clothing retailer New York & Company, signing a multi-year agreement which will involve her making appearances for the brand and feature in its advertising campaigns. Mendes is also to launch Eva by Eva Mendes, a sub-brand of dresses and accessories of her own design.
After Lauren Conrad, Jennifer Lopez, Daisy Fuentes , it is Eva Mendes’ turn to don the designer hat and create her first-ever ready to wear collection for retailer New York & Company.
“I love anything that winks to yesteryear,” said Mendes. “You have to find what works for you. In this day and age where everybody has a stylist, I appreciate the kind of woman who steps out of the box. I love feeling like an individual. I want to share all these little tips with women.”
The actress will be heavily involved in the design process, approving each piece before it makes the final cut.
“I have a ton of ideas, but it’s a bit early to discuss them,” she said. “It’s taking up all my time, but in the best way possible. Everything I see is a possible design. My mind is consumed by it.”
The label will feature apparel and accessory items inspired by Mendes’ own personal style and red carpet looks. The new collection will include items that take women from office to evening as part of a new strategy for NY&C, which is well known for providing modern multi-functional affordable wear-to-work solutions.

The always stylish actress will collaborate with the NY&C design team to create the seasonal collections, which are expected to feature apparel and accessory items — many of which will transcend day to evening. The line will be delivered four times a year and be priced in line with NY&C’s affordable-fashion pricing commitment for consumers. The retailer will also develop an ad campaign featuring Mendes wearing her designs.
